Hey guys! There is so much to catch you up on. First, let me tell you about living quarters! We have all set up our tents in a bunch around in our campsite! We hand wash our clothes and have opportunities to take bucket showers anytime we’d like to. Restrooms are all port-a-potties and handwashing stations outside of them! It was quite an adjustment but didn’t take much time. One thing I like about it is the absence of mirrors. I feel like there is less worry of your outward appearance since you aren’t focused on seeing it everyday.
Camp so far has been phenomenal. I have grown more this week with the Lord than I ever have. I physically feel the difference of how close Jesus is to me. I’ve been able to ask Him to speak to me and hear Him for the first time. I truly feel like He is my best friend. This week we had many sessions about how to grow our faith before learning how to grow others. I didn’t realize, coming into training, that we also need to strengthen our relationship with The Lord before we minister to others. So it has been super encouraging to learn new things about Christ and what He has done for us and continues to. This week we also introduced scenarios of when we would visits homes in different countries. We practiced interacting with others with a kind and open heart. It was a great experience.
I hope to blog on here and give a little weekly update along with a testimony! For this week my first testimony is about my deliverance of my anxiety. I had the opportunity to talk to a dear friend of mine from one of the other trips. I opened up to her about my struggle with physical anxiety that I had dealt with daily. So she prayed over me. Since she prayed for me I have not felt that anxiety. I have never had such deliverance before. There were many more miracles happening, but so little time to type! For now I have a few pictures to show how amazing my time has been with my AWESOME squad! Hope you enjoy.
